ABOUT YOUR THERAPIST

A space where you don't have to hold yourself
together for someone else's comfort —
or shrink any part of yourself to be
understood.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Everyone deserves a therapist who makes them feel genuinely safe — not just comfortable, but truly held. From our very first conversation, my commitment is to offer you exactly that. I believe that mental wellness cannot be separated from the rest of who you are. Your history, your relationships, your body, your culture, the worlds you move between — all of it shapes your inner life. Meaningful healing asks us to tend to all of it.

MY STORY

Why I do this — and why it matters to me.

I founded Root & Branch Counseling because I believe the people carrying the most are often the least likely to ask for help. I am drawn to the quietly exhausted — the adult who has been holding it together so long they've lost track of who they are underneath it. The person who exists between worlds and has learned to code-switch or mask so seamlessly they've forgotten where they actually stand. The one sitting with grief, or burnout, or something they can't quite name yet. I am also drawn to children — to the particular tenderness of helping them find their footing when words haven't caught up to what they're feeling yet. And to the parents who love them enough to ask for help, even when they're not sure what to ask for. Both take courage. Both matter here.

MY APPROACH

Depth, steadiness, and gentle honesty.

There is a version of therapy that stays comfortable. It validates, reflects, and sends you home feeling heard but not quite changed. That is not the work I do. I engage in the slow work — the kind that grows your capacity to sit with discomfort without being undone by it. Warmth and challenge are not opposites, and I believe that in the right relationship, they can be the same thing.

Over time, I will gently name what I notice, offer a different perspective, and invite you to stretch a little further than feels possible. I will walk with you right up to the edges of your limits, steadily, until those edges move. Throughout, my approach remains evidence-based and tailored entirely to you.
